ANNEMARIE VAN DAM
To me, yoga is not about doing tricks. It's about the possibility to dial back to my consciousness and breath, even off the mat.
I've been practicing yoga for a long time, but i started out by just 'doing the poses'. For the last five years, i've been integrating yoga and mindfulness more into my daily life. By taking deliberate breaks during the day, to create space for myself en to observe my thoughts.
I started developing myself further by attending the Restorative Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training by Veda Ela at Yogasite. This has given me so much, that i also decided to join and finish the Yin Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training at Stillnessinyoga in Doorn. Besides these two TT's, i've attended multiple mindfulness trainings.
Being a yoga teacher teaches me so much as well. I learn from the people and situations that i come across. And above anything else i enjoy it so much! If you take a class with me, possible themes of the classes are being kind to yourself, gaining perspective and becoming aware of what's going on in your life. To me, yoga is learning to allow yourself to be who you truly are; on and off the mat.
