In this 3-part workshop series from Bart, you will learn how to open your body in a safe way. He addresses the fundamentals of backbends, forward bends and twists. In each session, elements are discussed such as;
How to avoid injuries;
Pitfalls and solutions;
How to solve blockages (physical & energetic).
In addition, Bart goes deeper into the specific theme of that week in each workshop.
This week you will be working on opening the front of your body. You will discover where you can grow to create the back bend, without compression in your back or neck. Breathing is very important here. You will also discover the difference and the benefits of both passive and active back bends.
Get rid of stiffness and back pain! Hip openers can significantly improve your forward bend. The psoas also plays a large part in this. This muscle is hidden deep in your body and can secretly prevent you from getting any further in your forward bend. That's why this week Bart will put extra attention on this special muscle.
With twists you can start a big cleanse in your body. Toxic substances stored in your connective tissue are released, you create heat and your breathing is challenged. When you get to know the optimal way to twist, the effect is bizarrely beautiful!
These basics give you a foundation to get more out of your yoga practice. They give you tools to experience almost all yoga postures on a different level. To get the most benefits out of them for your body.
